French Toast with Berries

Golden, custardy brioche French toast topped with lightly sweetened fresh berries and maple syrup.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Rinse and dry the berries, then toss them with the sugar in a mixing bowl. Let them stand until juicy.

    Timer: 10 min (fixed)

    Ingredients used: 25.0 gr Granulated Sugar, 300.0 gr Mixed Berry

  2. Step 2

    Whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow dish until evenly combined.

    Ingredients used: 4.0 piece Egg, 2.0 gr Ground Cinnamon, 1.0 gr Salt, 5.0 ml Vanilla Extract, 240.0 ml Whole Milk

    Cookware: Shallow Dish, whisk

  3. Step 3

    Place a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp (15 gr) of the butter.

  4. Step 4

    Briefly dip 4 piece (4 piece) of bread in the custard, coating both sides, and let the excess drip away. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, set in the center, and at least 71°C internally.

  5. Step 5

    Melt the remaining 1 tbsp (15 gr) butter in the skillet. Dip and cook the remaining 4 piece (4 piece) of bread in the same way.

  6. Step 6

    Divide the French toast among four servings, spoon over the berry mixture, and drizzle with maple syrup.
