Cinnamon Roll Casserole

A warm breakfast casserole of cinnamon roll pieces baked in maple-vanilla custard, topped with pecans and a simple cream glaze.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Heat the oven to 175°C. Grease the baking dish with the softened butter.

    Cut each cinnamon roll into four pieces and arrange the pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.

  3. Step 3

    Whisk the eggs, whole milk, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract until smooth.

    Ingredients used: 4.0 piece Egg, 3.0 gr Ground Cinnamon, 60.0 ml Maple Syrup, 5.0 ml Vanilla Extract, 180.0 ml Whole Milk

  4. Step 4

    Pour the custard evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces.

  5. Step 5

    Scatter the chopped pecans evenly over the casserole.

  6. Step 6

    Bake for 25–30 minutes, until puffed and golden and the center reaches 71°C.

    Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  8. Step 8

    Whisk the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and remaining 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract into a smooth glaze.

  9. Step 9

    Drizzle the glaze over the warm casserole and serve.
