Baked Cheese and Cornmeal Bites

Small savory bites made from strained cheese and cornmeal, seasoned with nigella and oregano, glazed with egg yolk, and baked until golden.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Heat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.

  2. Step 2

    Separate the egg, placing the white in a mixing bowl and the yolk in a small bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Add the strained cheese, cornmeal, nigella seeds, and oregano to the egg white. Mix and knead briefly until a soft, evenly combined dough forms.

    Timer: 2 min (fixed)

    Ingredients used: 120.0 gr Cornmeal, 1.0 gr Dried Oregano, 2.0 gr Nigella Seeds, 250.0 gr Yogurt

  4. Step 4

    Divide the dough into 16 equal portions, roll each into a small ball, and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet with space between them.

  5. Step 5

    Beat the reserved yolk briefly, then brush a thin coating over each bite.

  6. Step 6

    Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes, until the bites are firm and evenly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.
