Sautéed Green Beans with Garlic

Crisp-tender green beans sautéed with olive oil and finished with fragrant garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Rinse the green beans, trim the ends, and dry them well.

    Cookware: Chef Knife, colander, cutting board

  2. Step 2

    Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the green beans and sauté, stirring occasionally, until their color brightens.

  3. Step 3

    Add the water and immediately cover the skillet. Let the beans steam until nearly tender.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the lid and continue cooking over medium heat until the remaining water evaporates and the beans are crisp-tender.

    Add the garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss continuously until the garlic is fragrant, then remove the skillet from the heat.
