Peanut Butter Cookies

Classic American peanut butter cookies with crisp edges, tender centers, and a traditional crisscross top. Makes 24 cookies.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Heat the oven to 180°C. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Whisk the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt together.

    Beat the unsalted butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed until creamy and slightly lighter in texture.

    Timer: 2 min (fixed)

    Ingredients used: 100.0 gr Brown Sugar, 100.0 gr Granulated Sugar, 130.0 gr Peanut Butter, 115.0 gr Unsalted Butter

  4. Step 4

    Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until evenly incorporated.

    Timer: 1 min (fixed)

  5. Step 5

    Add the prepared flour mixture and mix on low speed just until no dry streaks remain.

  6. Step 6

    Divide the dough into 24 equal balls and arrange them about 5 cm apart on the prepared baking sheets.

    Press each ball twice with a fork in perpendicular directions to make a crisscross pattern and flatten it to about 1 cm thick.

  8. Step 8

    Bake one sheet at a time until the edges are set and lightly golden while the centers remain slightly soft.

  9. Step 9

    Cool the cookies on each baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
