Grilled Portobello Burger

Marinated portobello mushrooms grilled until tender, topped with melted provolone, and served on toasted buns with crisp vegetables and mayonnaise.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the grill to medium heat and clean the cooking grate.

    Whisk the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, and black pepper together.

    Ingredients used: 30.0 ml Balsamic Vinegar, 2.0 gr Black Pepper, 6.0 gr Garlic, 30.0 ml Olive Oil, 4.0 gr Salt

  3. Step 3

    Coat the mushroom caps with the marinade and leave them at room temperature for 15 minutes.

    Timer: 15 min (fixed)

  4. Step 4

    Grill the mushrooms for 5 to 7 minutes per side, turning once, until browned and tender.

    Place the provolone on the mushrooms, close the grill, and cook until the cheese melts.

    Place the buns cut-side down on the grill and toast until lightly browned.

    Spread the mayonnaise over the buns. Fill each bun with lettuce, a cheese-topped mushroom, tomato, and red onion, then serve.
