Baked Ziti with Ricotta

Ziti baked with marinara sauce, a seasoned ricotta filling, mozzarella, and Parmesan until bubbling and golden.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 190°C. Coat the inside of the baking dish with the olive oil.

    Ingredients used: 15.0 ml Olive Oil

  2. Step 2

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the ziti and 1 tsp (6 gr) salt, then cook until about 2 minutes short of al dente.

  3. Step 3

    Drain the pasta, return it to the pot, and stir in the marinara sauce until evenly coated.

    Ingredients used: 700.0 ml Marinara Sauce

  4. Step 4

    Combine the ricotta, egg, 50 gr Parmesan, parsley, remaining ¼ tsp salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.

    Ingredients used: 1.0 piece Egg, 2.0 gr Ground Black Pepper, 50.0 gr Parmesan Cheese, 15.0 gr Parsley, 425.0 gr Ricotta Cheese, 2.0 gr Salt

  5. Step 5

    Spread half of the sauced pasta in the baking dish. Spoon the ricotta mixture over it, scatter with 200 gr mozzarella, and cover with the remaining sauced pasta.

  6. Step 6

    Top with the remaining 100 gr mozzarella and remaining 25 gr Parmesan.

  7. Step 7

    Bake at 190°C until the sauce is bubbling, the cheese is lightly browned, and the center reaches 74°C.
