Broccoli and Cheese Stuffed Shells
Jumbo pasta shells filled with broccoli, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan, then baked in marinara sauce until bubbling and golden.
Instructions
-
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
-
Step 2
Boil the pasta shells until flexible but still slightly firm, about 2 minutes less than the package time. Drain and separate them so they do not stick together.
-
Step 3
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the broccoli and cook until bright green and just tender.
-
Step 4
Add the garlic and cook until fragrant. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the broccoli mixture cool slightly.
-
Step 5
Combine the ricotta, egg, 150 gr mozzarella, 40 gr Parmesan, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. Fold in the cooled broccoli mixture.
-
Step 6
Spread 1 ½ cup (350 ml) marinara sauce across the bottom of the baking dish.
-
Step 7
Fill each shell with the broccoli-cheese mixture and arrange the shells open side up in the baking dish.
-
Step 8
Spoon the remaining 1 ½ cup (350 ml) marinara sauce over the shells. Sprinkle with the remaining 75 gr mozzarella and 20 gr Parmesan.
-
Step 9
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake until the sauce is bubbling and the center reaches 74°C.
-
Step 10
Remove the foil and bake until the cheese is melted and lightly browned. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
