Chili Lime Shrimp

Large shrimp quickly marinated with lime, garlic, and warm chili spices, then seared and finished with fresh cilantro.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Pat the shrimp dry. Mince the garlic and chop the cilantro, keeping the cilantro aside for finishing.

    Cookware: Chef Knife, cutting board

  2. Step 2

    Whisk 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil with 3 tbsp (45 ml) lime juice, the garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, honey, salt, and black pepper.

    Ingredients used: 8.0 gr Chili Powder, 12.0 gr Garlic, 1.0 gr Ground Black Pepper, 2.0 gr Ground Cumin, 15.0 gr Honey, 45.0 ml Lime Juice, 15.0 ml Olive Oil, 5.0 gr Salt, 2.0 gr Smoked Paprika

    Cookware: mixing bowl, wire whisk

  3. Step 3

    Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss until evenly coated. Marinate for 10 minutes.

    Timer: 10 min (fixed)

  4. Step 4

    Heat the remaining 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.

    Timer: 2 min (fixed)

  5. Step 5

    Lift the shrimp from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and arrange them in one layer in the skillet. Discard the used marinade and cook the shrimp for 2 minutes per side, until opaque and 63°C internally, then transfer them to a clean platter.

    Timer: 4 min (fixed)

  6. Step 6

    Drizzle the shrimp with the remaining 1 tbsp (15 ml) lime juice, add the cilantro, and toss gently before serving.
