Baked Sea Bream with Herbs

Whole sea bream baked with garlic, fresh herbs, lemon, and olive oil until tender and aromatic.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 200°C.

    Coat the baking dish with 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil.

  3. Step 3

    Pat the sea bream dry and make two shallow diagonal cuts on each side. Season the cavities and exteriors with the salt and ground black pepper.

    Ingredients used: 2.0 gr Ground Black Pepper, 6.0 gr Salt, 2.0 piece Sea Bream

  4. Step 4

    Fill the fish cavities with the garlic, parsley, thyme, and sliced portion of the lemon. Place the fish in the prepared dish and drizzle with the remaining 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil.

    Ingredients used: 9.0 gr Garlic, 0.5 piece Lemon, 30.0 ml Olive Oil, 15.0 gr Parsley, 3.0 gr Thyme

  5. Step 5

    Squeeze the reserved lemon portion over the fish.

  6. Step 6

    Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the flesh is opaque, separates easily from the backbone, and reaches 63°C at the thickest part.

    Timer: 22 min (fixed)

  7. Step 7

    Rest the fish for 5 minutes, then serve whole or lift the fillets away from the bones.
