Baked Apples with Cinnamon

Whole apples baked until tender with cinnamon-brown sugar filling, butter, and a light lemon syrup.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 190°C.

    Wash the apples and remove each core, leaving the bottom 1 cm intact to contain the filling. Arrange them upright in the baking dish.

    Stir the brown sugar and cinnamon together in the mixing bowl.

    Ingredients used: 50.0 gr Brown Sugar, 3.0 gr Cinnamon

    Divide the cinnamon sugar among the apple cavities, then top with the butter pieces.

  5. Step 5

    Combine the water and lemon juice, then pour the liquid into the baking dish around the apples.

    Ingredients used: 15.0 ml Lemon Juice, 120.0 ml Water

  6. Step 6

    Bake for 25 minutes, then spoon some of the pan liquid over the apples.

    Continue baking until the apples are tender when pierced but still hold their shape.
