Apple Crisp

Tender cinnamon-spiced apples baked beneath a crisp topping of rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, and butter.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 190°C.

    Peel and core the apples, then cut them into slices about 6 mm thick and place them in the large mixing bowl.

    Add the lemon juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the apples. Toss until the slices are evenly coated.

    Ingredients used: 5.0 gr Cinnamon, 16.0 gr Cornstarch, 50.0 gr Granulated Sugar, 15.0 ml Lemon Juice, 5.0 ml Vanilla Extract

  4. Step 4

    Spread the apple mixture evenly in the baking dish.

  5. Step 5

    Combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt in the medium mixing bowl.

    Ingredients used: 90.0 gr All-Purpose Flour, 150.0 gr Brown Sugar, 1.5 gr Fine Salt, 90.0 gr Rolled Oat

  6. Step 6

    Add the cold butter and rub it into the oat mixture with your fingertips until moist clumps form and no large butter cubes remain.

    Scatter the topping evenly over the apples without pressing it down.

    Bake at 190°C for 40 minutes, until the topping is golden and the filling bubbles around the edges.
