Instructions

    Beat the butter and sugar in a second mixing bowl until pale and fluffy.

    Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth, scraping down the bowl as needed.

    Fold the sifted dry mixture into the butter mixture just until no dry flour remains.

    Cover the dough and refrigerate until slightly firm.

    While the dough chills, preheat the oven to 175°C.
