Honey Garlic Shrimp

Tender shrimp glazed in a savory-sweet honey, garlic, and soy sauce, finished with green onion and sesame seeds.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, and crushed red chili pepper together.

    Ingredients used: 16.0 gr Garlic, 60.0 gr Honey, 0.5 gr Red Chili Pepper, 15.0 ml Rice Vinegar, 60.0 ml Soy Sauce

  2. Step 2

    Whisk the cornstarch and cold water in a separate bowl until smooth.

    Ingredients used: 8.0 gr Cornstarch, 30.0 ml Water

  3. Step 3

    Pat the shrimp dry and season them with the black pepper.

    Ingredients used: 1.0 gr Black Pepper, 680.0 gr Shrimp

  4. Step 4

    Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the prepared shrimp in a single layer and sear without moving them.

  5. Step 5

    Turn the shrimp and cook until opaque and the centers reach 63°C, then transfer them to a plate.

  6. Step 6

    Pour the prepared honey-garlic sauce into the skillet and bring it to a simmer over medium heat, scraping up any browned bits.

    Re-whisk the slurry, stir it into the simmering sauce, and cook until glossy and lightly thickened.

  8. Step 8

    Return the shrimp and any collected juices to the skillet. Toss until evenly glazed and heated through, then remove from the heat.
