Bruschetta with Tomatoes and Basil

Crisp slices of toasted baguette rubbed with garlic and topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and extra-virgin olive oil.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 220°C.

  2. Step 2

    Combine the tomatoes, basil, half the garlic, one-third of the olive oil, the salt, and black pepper. Let the topping stand while the bread toasts.

    Timer: 10 min (fixed)

    Ingredients used: 12.0 gr Basil, 1.0 gr Black Pepper, 15.0 ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 4.0 gr Garlic, 4.0 gr Salt, 500.0 gr Tomato

    Cookware: Chef Knife, cutting board, mixing bowl, spoon

  3. Step 3

    Arrange the baguette slices on the baking sheet and brush both sides with the remaining olive oil.

    Ingredients used: 1.0 piece Baguette, 30.0 ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    Cookware: baking sheet, pastry brush

  4. Step 4

    Bake until crisp and lightly golden, turning the slices halfway through.

    Timer: 7 min (fixed)

  5. Step 5

    Rub one side of each warm toast with the remaining garlic.

  6. Step 6

    Spoon the tomato mixture onto the garlic-rubbed toasts and serve immediately.
