Vegan Pizza
A crisp, hand-shaped pizza topped with garlicky tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella, mushrooms, bell pepper, red onion, and fresh basil.
Instructions
-
Step 1
Place the baking sheet in the oven and preheat the oven to 250°C for at least 30 minutes.
-
Step 2
Combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar in the large mixing bowl. Leave until lightly foamy.
-
Step 3
Add the flour, ⅞ tsp (5 gr) salt, and olive oil. Mix into a dough, then knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic.
-
Step 4
Return the dough to the bowl, cover it, and let it rise until roughly doubled in volume.
-
Step 5
Mix the crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, black pepper, and remaining salt in the small bowl.
-
Step 6
Set the risen dough on parchment paper and shape or roll it into a circle about 30 cm wide, leaving a slightly thicker rim.
-
Step 7
Spread the tomato sauce over the dough inside the rim. Distribute the vegan mozzarella, bell pepper, mushrooms, and red onion evenly over the sauce.
-
Step 8
Carefully transfer the pizza and parchment to the hot baking sheet. Bake at 250°C until the crust is browned and crisp and the toppings are cooked.
-
Step 9
