Sweet Chili Cauliflower Bites
Crispy cauliflower bites tossed in sweet chili sauce offer a delightful snack with a touch of sweetness.
Instructions
-
Step 1
Use the chef's knife on the cutting board to trim the raw cauliflower into even bite-size florets.
-
Step 2
Combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and cold water in the mixing bowl. Stir with the slotted spoon until the batter is smooth and thick enough to coat a floret.
-
Step 3
Pour the vegetable oil into the deep pot and heat over medium-high heat until the deep-fry thermometer reads.
-
Step 4
Coat the cauliflower thoroughly in the batter, then use the slotted spoon to lower it into the hot oil in 2 batches. Fry each batch for about 4 minutes, turning as needed, until deeply golden, crisp, and the cauliflower is tender; drain on the wire rack.
-
Step 5
Put the sweet chili sauce in the large bowl, add the hot fried cauliflower, and toss with the slotted spoon until every bite is evenly glazed. Serve immediately while the coating is crisp.
